The Oconee County Sheriff's Office Wednesday evening released still images of two suspects -- a man and woman -- authorities believe may be connected to a case of theft and fraud.

The images were obtained from video surveillance along with images of a car with which the two individuals may have been associated.

Earlier in the day, an 87-year-old woman reported her wallet as stolen, according to Chief Deputy Lee Weems. The victim's credit cards were then used to make more than $4,000 worth of fraudulent charges  at Walmart and Lowe's on Epps Bridge Parkway, he said.

Additional details about the case were not immediately available.  Patch will provide updates as more information is released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Dave Stauffacher by emailing dstauffacher@oconeesheriff.org or by calling 706-769-3945.

I hope they catch those rotten people. I also hope they resist arrest. It takes a special kind of thief to rob an 87 year old person. I think they should triple the sentence on people like that.
