Oconee County Sheriff's Office Welcomes Deputy Matt Towe
Deputy Matt Towe took his oath as a Deputy Sheriff on Monday morning. Deputy Towe grew up in Oconee County and is a 2005 graduate of Oconee County High School. He has served for six years with Oconee County Fire Rescue and comes back to Oconee from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Sheriff Scott Berry said he has known the Towe family for more than 30 years, so when Matt expressed an interest to "come home" they are very glad to have him. "He is an excellent Peace Officer. We are proud to have him as part of the finest Sheriff's Office in the State of Georgia."
Deputy Towe will be assigned to the Patrol Division.
