OCHS Swim & Dive Team Wins Clarke-Oconee Invitational
The OCHS Swimming and Diving team outscored 32 teams for the overall win at the 2013 Clarke-Oconee Invitational at the UGA Gabrielsen Natatorium on Saturday. In the men’s competition, OCHS finished first with state qualifying times achieved by Wil Masters in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle, Jacob Wiltse in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Michael Materne in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle, Robert Wylie in both the 200 and 500 freestyle, Evan Brook in the 100 backstroke, and both Britt and Jack Edelen in the 1 meter diving. The ‘A’ 200 medley relay of Evan Brook, Wil Masters, Michael Materne, and Jacob Wiltse; the ‘B’ medley relay of Robert Wylie, Jon McGahee, Cullen Goss, and Jackson Blankenship; the ‘A’ 200 freestyle relay of Forest Newton, Cullen Goss, Jon McGahee, and Jackson Blankenship; and the ‘A’ 400 freestyle relay of Jacob Wiltse, Wil Masters, Michael Materne, and Robert Wylie all swam state qualifying times.
In the women’s competition, OCHS finished third with state qualifying times accomplished by Caroline McElhannon in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, Emily Eisenman in the 100 breaststroke, and Annie Williamson in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Both the ‘A’ 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays of Annie Williamson, Caroline McElhannon, Gabbie Filipov, and Emily Eisenman also swam state qualifying times.

• Britt Edelen 1st in the 1 meter diving
• Wil Masters 1st in the 500 freestyle and 2nd in the 200 IM
• Caroline McElhannon 1st in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke
• Jack Edelen 3nd in the 1 meter diving
• Michael Materne 3rd in the 200 IM
