NOHS Math Teacher Jackson Huckaby Awarded Grant
Karl Langenbach, Northeast Region Key Accounts Manager for Georgia Power, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Jackson Huckaby, a first-year teacher at NOHS, who was selected to receive a New Teacher Assistance Grant. The grant was awarded at a school board meeting in October.

First-year math and technology teacher Jackson Huckaby of North Oconee High School is a recipient of Georgia Power's New Teacher Assistance Grant.
Karl Langenbach, Northeast Region Key Accounts Manager for Georgia Power, presented a $1,000 check to Huckaby at an Oconee County School Board meeting earlier in the month.
Langenbach said a male and female representative from each of the 22 public colleges and universities in Georgia was selected from a pool of several hundred nominees.
The University of Georgia nominated Huckaby and a selection panel of experts chose him as one of the 44 winners in 2012.
The money will be used to buy supplies for Huckaby's classroom. He said he might use it buy a graphing calculator and statistics books.
